Home, Sweet, Home

Hey! I'm back. I don't know if that's a good thing, or a bad thing...but I'm back and it's good for me! :D So, camp was amazing! I loved it so much! Probably the worst thing up there was the bugs! They were so annoying! You would think flies would not stick on you! My leader had a fly on her finger and was shaking it and blowing it, but that thing wouldn't get off her finger! It was insane! Oh, with all the girls that we're up there (at least this happened in my ward), with all the bugs, there was a TON of screaming going on! Myself included...mostly me and this other girl. :D Haha! I was washing my hair in the spigot up there, just minding my own business, when a HUGE something flew on to my shoulder. I only saw it from the corner of my eye and its antennas were HUGE! I freaked out! I ran screaming, with shampoo in my hair (or conditioner...not sure). :D
The saddest thing that happened there was poor Chester! Chester was a innocent little chipmunk (or squirrel to some). Gabby and I discovered him our 2nd day up there. It had rained the night before, so we had no fire that night. Well, the buckets of water that we use to put out the fire was left out there unused, since there was no fire. Poor Chester fell into the bucket, and he froze to death! How sad is that?!?! :( We had a little ceremony for him, and we buried him, even with a tombstone. So, if you ever go to Camp Shalom in the Wilderness area. Check out the area around cabins 19 and 20 (mostly 20). Look to see if the tombstone for Chester is still there. Poor little Chester. We will miss you! :( R.I.P.
Well, let's get to some of the fun things! We had waterfront with the bishopric which was so fun. All the wards raced with each other trying to canoe as fast as possible to get little noodles (water noodles) from the water. The noodles were colored to fit the value colors for the Young Women program. (Faith[White], Divine Nature[Blue], Individual Worth[Red], Knowledge[Green], Choice and Accountability[Orange], Good Works[Yellow], Integrity[Purple], and Virtue[Gold].) Then you had to put them in the right order of the values (like the way I just put it). Well, our bishopric didn't make it up there in time, so we had to use our leaders. We were doing really good, in our own way. ;) My ward got.....3rd....TO LAST! Hahaha! :D  It was so fun though! I loved it!
Our last night up there was AMAZING! We had testimony night and man! Wow, there was a lot of feelings! I cried so hard! I have NEVER felt the spirit that strong before! It was crazy! One of the girls who said her testimony before me, really made me cry. Well, I was in the middle of my testimony and I found out that I had made her cry. All of us were crying that night. I couldn't believe it! It was so crazy! After we were all done, we all got up and started hugging. We've never done that before, but we just felt like we had to I guess. My friend, April and I hugged, and the whole time we were hugging we were both bawling our eyes out! The spirit was so strong, I was blown away.
After our testimony meeting was all done, and we all finished hugging, we got glow sticks. Huge glow sticks. When we went to bed, 3 (out of 5) of the girls upstairs wanted to cut the glow sticks and fling them around up there. While I was hiding under my sleeping bag (I'm deathly afraid of glow sticks, well when they're cut...there's a background story to why), the other girls (mainly Gabby) were flinging the glow sticks glowyness all around the upstairs loft in the cabin. It looked so cool after it was finished. It was amazing! I loved it. Parts of the floor looked like glass. It was so pretty, it was like having stars inside the cabin. The downside to it, was the smell. Uh, that horrid smell! It was so hard to fall asleep to it, so I fell asleep inside my sleeping bag. During the night, I needed some air, so I lifted my head out of the sleeping bag and wanted to gag when I did. The smell was still lingering on! It stunk so bad, but looked so pretty.
All in all, I LOVED GIRLS CAMP! There was so much that happened and it was so much fun. I loved getting to know all the new girls and it was amazing. :) So, here are some weird quotes said up there. :)
"You can have peanut butter and jelly [for dinner]." -One of the leaders
"We are happy, happy campers. And we always get along!" -Julie
"We love our flushies. We're grateful for our flushies (then swirl downwards while making a flushing noise)." -
-Zoe
"It goes on for an eternity....and a half!" -Ari
"Aw! There's your cute dimples!" -Alissa (There were many variations of this...and it's an inside joke.)
*burp* "I guess I'll have to take that medallion back!" -Bishop Sperry
Sis. Harris: "What's that your working on?" Alissa: "Schoolwork." Sis. Harris: "Oh, schoolwork...SCHOOLWORK?!?!"
"What would Taylor do if he was lost? Because HE IS!!!" YCL's (It was a cutout board of Taylor Lautner for our evening news. He was stolen.)
There were tons more I could have quoted...but looking at the time...and how I feel (tired). I decided to leave ya with what I've done. Once again, it was loads of fun, but I'm glad to be back! :D

Leaving...again! :(

Hey everybody. I will be leaving...once again this summer! :P I will be going to Girls Camp and I am so excited!!! I really can't wait! I will be having loads of fun! Oh and all those 1st years...they better watch their backs!!! Haha. Oh and guess what? This is crazy! My sisters and I that are going, we all weighed our suitcases. My younger sister's suitcase was 16 lbs. My youngest sister's suitcase weighed 18 lbs. And mine? My suitcase weighed...36 LBS!!!!!! 36 FAT POUNDS!!!! And on top of that...I HAVE THE SMALLEST SUITCASE!!! Haha...I know how to pack a lot in a small space!!! Hehe. :D Oh also, before I forget...I never told ya how I did on my laughing challenge. I will say at first I did try to laugh more, but near the end of the week I was going back to how much I usually laugh...which isn't that bad, because I do laugh a lot...mostly because of my friends and family being HILARIOUS! But it was a fun experience and I love laughing so it was a fun challenge. :D So, before I leave (and get this...I have to wake up around 5 to make it on time), I wanted to share some quotes with y'all. These quotes are totally random...some are about camping, others about just random things. :) Enjoy! and I will miss everybody! :D

"I got into an argument with a girlfriend inside of a tent. That's a bad place for an argument, because then I tried to walk out and slammed the flap. How are you supposed to express your anger in this situation? Zipper it up really quick?" -Mitch Hedberg

"Life is a musical so sing like no one is listening!" -Jasmine Crowe

"Life is like dancing. If we have a big floor, many people will dance. Some will get angry when the rhythm changes. But life is changing all the time." -Miguel Angel Ruiz

"I wonder what fool it was that first invented kissing." -Jonathan Swift

"True friends are like diamonds; precious but rare. Fake friends are like fall leaves; found everywhere." -Unknown

Hey!

Hey y'all! It's moi! (that's me in french if ya didn't know...i speak french just so ya know) just to prove it i'll say something in french and I promise not to use a translator. hm...what shall i say? oh! I know!!! Bonjour! Je suis intelligente! J'adore le tennis! J'aime ma famille! See! Told y'all so! I am AMAZING! Ok...I'm sorry this post is...strange...but that's probably cuz I'm also talking with my amazing friend, HALLE! She is super crazy and silly and such a cutie pie! Haha! She brings out my childish self...well all my friends do. Is that a bad thing? Haha...i don't think so! Ok...I'm a little hyper with it being almost 1 and not getting enough sleep lately...haha. So...hm oh! If y'all want to know what I said in french this is what it means. "Hello! I am smart! I adore(or love) tennis! I love my family!" Yeah...I know...it's simple, but that's what I came up with at 1 in the mornin! Oh guess what! New topic! So, my friends make fun of the way i talk sometimes cuz i seem to as they say, "have a southern accent" but they are crazy! I did spend a while in the south, but not too much and I don't think I sound southern...i sound...like...ME! Yeah, so what if I don't pronounce some words exactly right, but who does? And who cares if sometimes I drop my "g" from an "ing" word. Or if i say "ya" instead of "you" or "y'all" instead of "you all." It doesn't make me southern...does it?
ok...i'm going to stop this post before i destroy my reputation...if i even got one! :D ok so...i'm going to go back to just talking with my friend Halle. See y'all! Halle! Here I come!!!

6) Hiking+hurt knee=lots of pain
7) People snoring can sound like a bear...especially with your imagination
8) Camping food (store bought) is GROSS!
9) It gets super cold at night in the mountains and super hot during the day
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
10) We take things for granted  a lot!
I'm so grateful for the trip that i went on and that i could go!

HAHA! Laughing quotes!

I don't know about you...but I love laughing!!! It comes so naturally...well unless ya force it...but a true laugh isn't pushed out...it's just sucked out. Hey that could be a quote!!! haha! :P Did ya know...laughter is the best medicine?!?! We all need to laugh a lot more...teens laugh about 1/2 of what they used to...(at least that's my opinion... hehe) But, it is a proven fact that nowadays we are laughing a lot less. Probably 'cuz we have so much technology, that it's causing us to take time to do other things, like watch t.v., sit at the computer (like I'm doing now. hehe), texting people all the time, listening to our iPods...whatever the reason...it's distracting us from laughter. We should all be laughing more often...so read these quotes and then go out and spread that word of laughter! Join with me to save the world of dullness, by laughing! :D I challenge all of ya to laugh 100...no 500 times this week...and report back to me! (I'll do it too...let's see how I do! Next week I'll make sure to post about how I did.) Good luck, fellow laughers! :P

"Crying is like a disease and laughter is the cure. Laughing can make a grumpy sister sick of school be happy just for a moment, before she realizes she has more homework. Laughter can save the home from having a mom not in a good mood because she had a hard day at work and can make it a fun night with the family." -Audrey Powelson

"In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured." -Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

"The more you find out about the world, the more opportunities there are to laugh at it." -Bill Nye

"If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane." -Jimmy Buffett

"You can't take life too seriously. You just have to laugh your way through it." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"Laughing fives me that last bit of hope, and desire that is impossible to find anywhere else." -Kyle Manwaring

"I believe in laughing. The way someone makes another person feel with something funny said. When a joke is told, when someone trips over a slippery surface, and when a pie is thrown at another's face." Alex Soutas

"Everybody has a different laugh. Don't hold your laugh in because it's ugly or loud. Express yourself by your laughter." -Audrey Powelson

"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." -E.E Cummings

"Seven days without laughter makes one weak." -Mort Walker

"What soap is to the body, laughter is to the soul." -Yiddish Proverb

"A laugh is a smile that bursts." Mary H.Waldrip

"Don't try holding a laugh in...it ruins the moment!" -Alissa

"If I ever stop laughing, I'm dead." -Tom Knapp

"When you have a heartfelt belly laugh, all parts of your being - the physiological, the psychological, the spiritual - they all vibrate in one single tune. They all vibrate in harmony!" -Osho

Loving somebody who doesn't love you back... :'(

Some of these quotes make me cry because they are so sad! I know this is a really long post...but bear with me and read them...they are sad...but touching.

"What do you do when the only one that can make you stop crying, is the person who made you cry?"

"I’m not the girl who runs up to you when I see you, and I’m not the girl who jumps at every moment to talk to you. I am the girl who keeps it all inside and regrets it later." -Unknown

"You're the one who broke my heart, you're the reason my world fell apart, you're the one who made me cry, yet I'm still in love with you and I don't know why." -Anonymous

"You asked me what was wrong, I smiled and said nothing, when you turned around and a tear came down and I whispered to myself... 'everything is.'" -Unknown

"The way you look at her...that's how I want you to look at me." -Alissa

"One of the hardest things in life is watching the person you love, love someone else." -Unknown

"The worst thing a guy can do is make a girl fall for him, when he has no intention of catching her." -Unknown

"Torn between two. Who would you choose? The one that you love...or the one that loves you?" -Unknown

"I'm trying really hard not to cry over you because every tear is just one more reminder that I don't know how to let you go" -Unknown

"The worst feeling you'll ever feel is sitting next to the person who means the world to you knowing that you mean nothing to them." -Unknown

The last two things aren't necessarily quotes...but I found them one night and they are so cute, but so sad. :(10th grade

As I sat there in English class, I stared at the girl next to me. She was my so called "best friend". I stared at her long, silky hair, and wished she was mine. But she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. After class, she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before and handed them to her. She said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I wanted to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

11th grade
The phone rang. On the other end, it was her. She was in tears, mumbling on and on about how her love had broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After 2 hours, one Drew Barrymore movie, and three bags of chips, she decided to go to sleep. She looked at me, said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Senior year
The day before prom she walked to my locker. My date is sick" she said; he's not going to go well, I didn't have a date, and in 7th grade, we made a promise that if neither of us had dates, we would go together just as "best friends". So we did. Prom night, after everything was over, I was standing at her front door step. I stared at her as she smiled at me and stared at me with her crystal eyes. I want her to be mine, but she isn't thinking of me like that, and I know it. Then she said "I had the best time, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

 Graduation Day
A day passed, then a week, then a month. Before I could blink, it was graduation day. I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel up on stage to get her diploma. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. Before everyone went home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and cried as I hugged her. Then she lifted her head from my shoulder and said, "You’re my best friend, thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

A Few Years Later
Now I sit in the pews of the church. That girl is getting married now. I watched her say "I do" and drive off to her new life, married to another man. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't see me like that, and I knew it. But before she drove away, she came to me and said "you came!". She said "thanks" and kissed me on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Funeral

Years passed, I looked down at the coffin of a girl who used to be my "best friend". At the service, they read a diary entry she had wrote in her high school years. This is what it read: I stare at him wishing he was mine, but he doesn't notice me like that, and I know it. I want to tell him, I want him to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love him but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why. I wish he would tell me he loved me! 'I wish I did too...' I thought to myself, and I cried.

Okay. Here is the last one!(BTW...make sure you are watching what number of day it is)
Derick:
I guess we are the left-overs in this world.

Lily:
I think so...all of my friends have boyfriends, and we are the only the 2 people left in this world without any special person in our lives.

Derick:
Yup, I don't know what to do.

Lily:
I know! We'll play a game.

Derick:
What game?

Lily:
I'll be your girlfriend for 30 days
and you will be my boyfriend.

Derick:
That's a great plan, in fact, I don't have anything to do
much for the following few weeks.

DAY 1:
They watch their first movie
and they both are touched by the romantic film.

DAY 4:
They went go to the beach and have a picnic. Derick and Lily have their quality time together.

DAY 12:
Derick invited Lily to a circus and they ride through a Horror House.
Lily was scared and she thought she touched Derick's hand but she actually touched someone else's hand they both laughed.

DAY 15:

They saw a fortune teller down the road, and they asked for their future advice.
The fortune teller said:
"My darlings, please don't waste the time of your life, spend the rest of your time together, happily." Then tears flowed out from the teller's eyes.

DAY 20:
Lily invited Derick to go to the hill
and they saw a meteor; Lily mumbled something.

DAY 28:
They sat on the bus, and because of a bumpy road Lily gave her first kiss to Derick by accident.

DAY 29:
11:37 pm:
Lily and Derick sat in the park where they first decided to play this game.

Derick:
I'm tired Lily...Do you want anything to drink? I'll buy you one...I'll just go down the road.

Lily:
An Apple Juice, that's all. Thank you.

Derick:
Wait for me.

20 minutes later
A stranger approached Lily

Stranger:
Are you a friend of Derick?

Lily:
Yes, why? What happened?

Stranger:
A reckless drunk driver ran over Derick, and he is in critical condition in the hospital.

11:57 pm:
The doctor walked out of the emergency room; he handed Lily an apple juice and a letter.

Doctor:
We found this in Derick's pocket.

Lily reads the letter and it says:
Lily, These past few weeks, I realized you are a really cute girl, and I am really falling for you-your cherished smile, your everything when we played this game. Before this game ends, I would like you to be my girlfriend for the rest of my life.
I love you, Lily.

Lily crumpled up the paper and shouted:

"Derick! I don't want you to die-
I love you; remember that night when we saw a meteor and I mumbled something. I mumbled that I wish we would be together forever and that we would never have to end this game. Please don't leave me Derick .. I love you! You can't do this to me!"

Then the clock strikes 12...

Derick's heart stopped pumping...

It was the 30th day.
